Creating a website is a much more than just a complex e-marketing activity. The absolute truth here is that you are in fact creating the shop itself. You have the experts to assist you in the traditional concrete and clay environment and these people will generally help you avoid slipping on the banana skins.
In the virtual world we get rather a different view of things and in fact the environment is in complete contrast to the brick and mortar scenario. There are a whole bunch of people who have vague knowledge of the shopping reality attempting to build what is supposed to “look” like a concrete store, or at least feel like one.
These differences tend to lead to very few people from the traditional world migrating into the digital experience unless they are talented business principals. Those that do cross over are generally not successful and make the mistake of rooting to campaigns. Campaigns are by nature short lived and a website and its ancillaries must nerd me short lived. Never!
Experts in UX are the animals who will save the day. They will assist businesses to bridge the digital divide and both brands and businesses will rely upon their expertise for ultimate success.
An experience such as a shopping experience must be eternal and enduring. The marketeers must rid themselves of the campaign mind set and get real. Of they do not then the venture and all associated with it will crash and burn like a fiery aircraft disaster.
